Stef van der Ziel is an internet pioneer, entrepreneur, and founder of Jet-Stream, Europe’s sovereign media cloud. With a career spanning over 30 years, he has been at the forefront of the streaming industry, launching the world’s first live webcast in 1994 and later establishing Jet-Stream in 2003. His company specializes in advanced streaming workflows, cloud infrastructure, and data privacy, serving European broadcasters, OTT providers, and enterprises.
A champion of data sovereignty and green streaming, Stef has led innovative projects focused on privacy-first cloud solutions and on-prem video processing. He is also known for viral guerrilla marketing initiatives, co-founding campaigns such as TopDutch, HupAssen, and HupHyperloop.
Beyond streaming, he is an author, board member, and speaker, actively involved in entrepreneurial and media technology communities.
